Oracle Applications 11i / R12 GUI technology - Forms - PLSQL web - OAF - ADF

What should I do when i need to take a decision around choosing technology options for customising my existing oracle application screens or build custom application in Oracle Applications 11i or R12?

This is the main question now a days coming to the  solution architect or technical consultant who are working in oracle applications related projects.

Considering continuous technology change, its moment towards easier and faster development procedures, its really important to decide correct technology path for any ERPs.

Considering here the above question, below are the parameters we should keep in mind while taking this decision

1) Easy availability of skills

2) How big that application/customisation is and how long its going to be used 

3) Support for the application/customisation from Vendor

4) Integration points and compatibility

5) Time for development

 

Mostly this question will go off if we start moving applications to available cloud fusion application where in most of the challenges would go of as technology will be owned by cloud vendor.

We are seeing new inventions almost at every moment across the world including both developing and developed world !!

There are major 2 inventions which are important for us till now one is Internet and another is from Steve Job's smart devices. apart from open source and cloud computing.

This is clear now most of the devices and talk to Internet and generate huge data across the glob. This data now can be basis for obtaining different intelligent trends across almost all the areas like education, health care, real estate, food industry, manufacturing etc.

You need to just think an idea and  you will find solution around this using these major inventions/concepts.

Soon speed for data transfer will increase and we will see that data movement across network will so easy that every person on this earth will be on Internet through different devices and going to connect any person on the net.
